DIY | New Years Eve Drink Stirrer

We are so close to ringing in the new year, and I cannot wait to get dressed up and celebrate tonight with family. I hope you have fun plans in store for the evening as well!

While browsing Pinterest recently, I came across this pin and thought it was just adorable. Turns out, these festive drink stirrers are pretty darn easy to make, too!

Here is what you will need:

Holiday tinsel garland
Glue dots
Scissors
Wooden stirrer sticks
Champagne!!

1. Cut about 1" of garland for each stirrer
2. Place the glue dot on top of the wooden stirrer
3. Find the middle of the garland piece and separate the tinsel so that you are holding the metal filament
4. Place the metal filament onto the middle of the glue dot
5. Fold the side of the garland piece down towards the stirrer to round out the garland and make a "pouf"
6. Place your stirrer into a glass of champ and enjoy!

DIY | Silhouette Art

I am slightly obsessed with anything silhouette - wall art, tote bags, throw pillows, wedding invitations, you name it! We have this bare little wall that was just begging for some art, so I created a few surprisingly easy DIY silhouettes.

Supplies:

Frame (oval ones are my fave)
White computer paper (two sheets)
Black card stock paper
Scissors
Spray adhesive
Computer
Pencil
Chalk
Tape

1. Find an image that you would like to use and pull it up on your computer. Make sure it is pulled up to the correct size that you want your silhouette to be and that it will fit in your frame.
2. Carefully tape the piece of computer paper onto your computer screen over the image.
3. Use a pencil to trace the outline of the image to create a silhouette
4. Once the tracing is complete, remove the computer paper from the computer screen and coat the underside of the traced image with a light layer of chalk.
5. Place the computer paper chalk side down onto the black piece of card stock paper.
6. Using the pencil, re-trace the silhouette using pressure to make a chalk line on the black card stock.
7. Remove the white paper and you should see a white outline of the silhouette on the black card stock.
8. Now you are ready to cut! Once the silhouette is cut out of the black paper, make sure the chalk residue is wiped off.
9. Mount the remaining white sheet of computer paper onto the cardboard frame back using a light coat of spray adhesive to give your silhouette frame a crisp background.
10. Spray the back of the silhouette lightly with adhesive and mount onto the white frame backing.
11. Re-assemble your frame and hang!
